Featured on the Harvest Home Tour will be the 1925 Georgian Revival style Clarence Boyer House, former home of the UO president.

The Historic Preservation League of Oregon presents a tour of historic homes in Eugene's South University neighborhood. The walkable tour includes mainly homes from the mid to late 1920s.

The neighborhood boasts a variety of architectural styles including Craftsman, Mid-Century Modern, Bungalows, International and Northwest Regional styles. But the most predominant styles are the period revival homes. These homes were popularized through catalogs and mail-order companies and included Dutch Colonial, Spanish Colonial, English Arts & Crafts, Tudor, English Cottage and Colonial revivals among others.

This is the first time the HPLO has hosted one of their popular home tours in Eugene.  “Eugene has a very significant collection of historic homes and commercial buildings that deserve to be celebrated,” says HPLO Executive Director Peggy Moretti.  “We’re hoping to make this an annual event and attract folks from around the state.”

Saturday, October 13, 2012 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Tickets: $20 general; $15 HPLO members; $10 students
