Homeowners are adding arches into interior spaces, such as in this Glenwood remodel by interior designer Charla Ray, of Charla Ray Interior Design. Ray made a previous add-on to a Spanish Mediterranean home feel more cohesive by adding two arched transitions between the home’s kitchen and its dining room and pantry. “Adding this design detail adds such softness to all of the hard lines,” Ray says. “I thought it would make the transition feel really nice, but it was also more authentic to the home.” The rounded transitions make the addition feel more like it has always been there, she says.
