Every summer since 1975, Oregon design and building aficionados line up for their chance to ogle high-end new construction at the NW Natural Street of Dreams. This annual event gives builders, designers, craftspeople, and landscape architects an opportunity to put their skills on display, while providing valuable inspiration for attendees looking to buy or build their own dream homes, or for people wanting to redecorate or remodel their existing homes.
This year’s event features six new show homes, along with a “tiny” home, situated along the 10th, 11th, and 12th holes of the Reserve Vineyards & Golf Club in the new South Hillsboro neighborhood. Not long ago, a group of lucky Windermere Real Estate brokers got an early look at the street while attending a so-called “dirty shoe” open house. During the event, the brokers toured “Hearth & Home, one of the new Street of Dreams properties listed by Windermere West brokers Lisa Bradburn and Keith Sjodin.
LUXURY DESIGN MEETS EVERYDAY LIVING
Listed for $1,999,999, “Hearth & Home” was built and designed by Anlon Custom Homes in collaboration with Wendy O’Brien Interior Planning and Design. The brokers call the Northwest farmhouse “a heritage home” because its flexible space and design means the home could be passed down through the generations. A master-on-the-main is complemented by three additional versatile spaces — each with their own bathroom — that could be used as bedrooms or whatever fits the buyer’s unique lifestyle needs.
No detail was spared within the construction of “Hearth & Home.” Large sliding barn doors that show off a custom crafted diamond pattern design make a statement against dramatically high ceilings, with artistically exposed ghost wood beams and tongue-and-groove woodwork. The master suite features a soaking tub, built-in coffee bar and — if having a laundry room inside your craft room wasn’t convenient enough — an additional laundry.
Situated on the twelfth hole of the Reserve, not only does “Hearth & Home” maximize its golf course views from inside, ample living spaces also exist outside. A stunning outdoor fireplace anchors the backyard patio overlooking the green. A kitchen pass-through directly to the built-in gas grill area makes outdoor entertaining easy. And with a dedicated golf cart garage, this home is perfectly suited to support a lifetime of golfing.
A PLANNED COMMUNITY
As impressive as these homes are, the community they reside in may be even more exciting. Nearly 20 years in the making, the new South Hillsboro neighborhood will be the largest master-planned community in Oregon history, and will feature three distinct districts. Each with a variety of home types, and all within walking distance of schools, parks, trails, dining and shopping.
Windermere brokers will return to the Street of Dreams on July 30th for a private event where local developers and representatives from the City of Hillsboro will reveal what’s in store for Hillsboro’s momentous expansion. We’ll share what we learn in our next Oregon Home blog post.
In the meantime, “Hearth & Home” and the other five Street of Dreams homes, plus a “tiny” home, will be open to the public between July 28th and August 26th. You can learn more about the event and purchase tickets at the Street of Dreams website.
