Structure + Style 2018: Remodel Winners

Here are the winners of the 2018 Structure + Style Awards: Remodel!

MAJOR HOME REMODEL – UNDER $250,000

We are a remodeling company that provides design, project management, carpentry and cabinetry services. Rather than tear down a dilapidated older structure and build new, we were contracted to remodel the entire house and bring aspects up to modern standards and livability with a stylish appearance.

MAJOR HOME REMODEL – $250,000 – $400,000

This Irvington house, built in 1913 as a bold and beautiful expression of craftsman design, underwent an unbelievably poor remodel that stripped the exterior of all its original detail. With historic photos and records in hand, the homeowners have brought the lost Craftsman character of this house back to life!

MAJOR HOME REMODEL – OVER $400,000

The house was built in 1896 and was in very poor condition. We lifted the home to accommodate a new foundation and then fully renovated, keeping some old Victorian characteristics while modernizing the home with all-new major systems and designs.

KITCHEN REMODEL – UNDER $75,000

The original kitchen/nook seemed charming and homey when these owners purchased the house. But soon the charm wore thin and they longed for something more conducive to family life. They asked for a comfortable traffic flow, task-specific storage, environmentally friendly materials, a comfortable nook area and a colorful, retro look.

KITCHEN REMODEL – OVER $75,000

We designed a kitchen they loved with materials that would last for 30-plus years. We used white subway tile with Shaker-style cabinets and Pental countertops, and added a coffee bar, wine bar, steam oven pot filler. We installed a custom beam to add light fixtures throughout, complemented by a huge skylight in the middle of the kitchen.

BATHROOM REMODEL – UNDER $25,000

A newly retired couple relocated to the Northwest to a new home with a small, outdated, dark master bath, which didn’t complement the rest of their updated transitional home. Our goal was to create a master bath with a welcoming spa-like experience.

BATHROOM REMODEL – $25,000 – $50,000

Our client wanted an elegant Carrera-style bathroom that she could walk into every day and feel like a princess. We added a custom vanity with Carrera marble slab on it and Carrera mosaic tile on the shower and floor.

BATHROOM REMODEL – OVER $50,000

Our client wanted the design of their master bath to honor their Japanese heritage and emulate a Japanese bathing experience. They had very specific needs and ideas they needed help with — including blending Japanese design elements with their traditional Northwest-style home.
