The Washington state-based coffee equipment retailer Seattle Coffee Gear is expanding its presence in the Pacific Northwest by opening a third store located in northwest Portland on Tuesday, June 24th.
Featuring over a hundred different home espresso machines, coffee makers, coffee grinders and related accessories, Seattle Coffee Gear is one of the only retail stores of its kind in the United States. In addition to their extensive selection of coffee equipment, Seattle Coffee Gear is proud to offer freshly roasted coffee from a number of local artisanal roasters and blends from Italian roasters such as illy and Lavazza.
The Portland location is Seattle Coffee Gear’s largest store to date, with approximately 3,200 square feet of retail space. The mission of the store is to help customers find the right equipment, show them how to use it and teach them how to keep their machine in the best shape possible. To help facilitate this experience, all of the machines in the store will be setup for demonstration and use so that customers can experience how they work and taste the coffee they produce prior to purchase. There will also be a service writer in the store to diagnose and troubleshoot problems on machines as well as preform on-site tune-ups. Additionally, customers interested in learning more about coffee and equipment can attend regular coffee tastings, equipment showcases or how-to workshops and classes that will be held at the store’s 16-foot long demonstration and event bar.
“Portland has a vibrant coffee culture and some of the best locally roasted coffee I have ever tasted,” remarks Seattle Coffee Gear’s founder, Victor Gehlen. “Given that, we are excited to be opening our first out of market store and third retail location in this town. We will have plenty of knowledgeable and friendly staffers on hand to answer any questions and look forward to sharing our expertise with the community.”
While the new retail location will open on Tuesday, June 24th, at 10:00 a.m., Seattle Coffee Gear will hold a grand opening event on Saturday, June 28th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. To learn more about the store and to sign up the event mailing list, please visit here.
