Hosting should be, well, a picnic. Enter Portland entrepreneur Pallavi Pande’s line of eco-friendly tableware, Dtocs, with products made with palm leaves. “People are spending more time educating themselves on eco-conscious brands to support,” says Pande, pictured above with her family. The leaves, which come from the betel nut tree, fall naturally after completing a full life cycle and are collected by local farmers for further processing. No tree is harmed in the production of the plates, and they compost in four to six weeks.
