The 2008 STREET OF EAMES celebrates mid-century and contemporary homes.
One of the homes on the tour is the city’s first private residence to
be certified by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design for Homes (also known as LEED) program.
Portland architects Melody and Brian Emerick built the eco-friendly
house—which will be featured in a future issue of Oregon Home this
year—as their own family home. The 3rd annual self-guided tour of homes
benefits homeless students in Portland public schools.
