The Architectural Heritage Center’s 14th annual Kitchen Revival Tour is scheduled for Saturday April 14th. The self-guided tour provides education and inspiration for homeowners and old house enthusiasts. This year promises to be stellar with eight homes ranging from 1898 through 1961 and a bonus kitchen in a 1926 Mediterranean apartment building.
Tour-goers can visit a 1910 Forest Park home in NW, the Vista Ave. apartment building in SW and seven homes on the East Side in the neighborhoods of Alameda, Laurelhurst, Ladd’s Addition, Richmond and Sunnyside.
Visitors will see how even the most modest of kitchens can be “modernized” to meet the needs of 21st century lifestyle, while also retaining historic character and charm. There are 4 DIY kitchens on the tour–always a favorite for budget minded tour goers. There are also beautifully appointed and professionally remodeled kitchens. Guests will have the opportunity to meet local craftspeople and homeowners eager to share their kitchen renovation and preservation stories. This tour truly represents the AHC’s mission of inspiring people to conserve the art, craft, and context of historic buildings and places.
Saturday, April 14th, 10am-4pm
