LADDERBACK CHAIR CLASS

In his “LADDERBACK CHAIR” class, award-winning chairmaker Brian Boggs explains the principles of greenwood chairmaking. You’ll build a two-slat, “mule ear” chair out of hickory and maple based on a 100-year-old Appalachian design. You’ll make the chair webbing from hickory bark or hemp. The class is intended for intermediate to advanced woodworkers.

ANNUAL SISTERS OUTDOOR QUILT SHOW

During the ANNUAL SISTERS OUTDOOR QUILT SHOW, the largest outdoor quilt show in the U.S., more than 1,100 quilts from around the world decorate the Western-style town of Sisters, Ore. The festive event appeals to quilters and nonquilters alike, with music and food. Approximately one-third of the quilts are for sale. The show is part of a weeklong event celebrating fiber and textile arts.

Interior designer Pamela Sandall facilitates the class, which will provide you with an opportunity to get up close and personal with design experts.

Six luxury Portland homes will be unveiled during the 33RD ANNUAL NW NATURAL STREET OF DREAMS. The event draws more than 100,000 attendees each year. Whether you’re interested in renovating your current home or planning to build a new one, this home tour offers an opportunity to meet with the region’s top builders, designers and landscapers. The Homebuilders Association of Metropolitan Portland sponsors the event.

 

MCKENZIE RIVER HOME & GARDEN TOUR

During the leisurely self-guided MCKENZIE RIVER HOME & GARDEN TOUR you have a chance to visit seven homes and gardens. Raffle tickets for raft trips, restaurant meals, lodging, spa tickets and artwork will be on sale at each tour location. The tour raises money for the McKenzie River Clinic.
