pic 6 1As a dedicated sun lover, this is a hard time of year for me. Very hard. And when life gets hard, there’s really only one thing to do. Shop. Shop a lot. If you also need to distract yourself from wind, rain, falling leaves and a fading tan, here are some outing suggestions.

From the Editor: design for life

2013FW LoriRussellWhite carpet in our master bedroom seemed like a great idea at the time. The light color would perk up an otherwise dark room and the thick plush would feel great underfoot on cold winter mornings. It would look just like one of those photographs in a magazine. Beautiful tiny beach house

2013FW TinyBeach1By thoughtfully reworking a beach cottage, Steve Smith and Kim DeMent live large in a small space.

Starting with that focus, Campbell creates stunning kitchens, including the condo remodel that garnered her top local prize in the 2010-2012 Sub-Zero and Wolf Kitchen design contest.

Heart of Wood repurposes wood scraps

Produced by the marketing department of Oregon Home

2013FW YS HeartOfWood4When Sharon and Bob Lewis come across wood destined for chipping or the fireplace, they often see wood destined for another purpose: to become finely crafted objects for the home, the kind of pieces passed down from generation to generation.
