Cold Hands, Warm Heart

White has long been a favorite for the kitchen, but too much of a good thing can make a place feel a bit clinical. That was the inspiration behind designer Natalie Myers’ new line of earth-toned appliances for Big Chill, a maker known for its vintage-style fridges. “There has been a recent movement in interiors to embrace more natural elements and toasty, earthy colors,” Myers says. “Layering in warm tones by way of appliances fits right into this collective ethos.” The appliances — which mix clean lines with curves, shiny with matte, and new with old — evoke the feeling of the desert and look especially great with matte modern, flat-front cabinetry, Myers says.
