The lucky winners! Brad holds Rowan, as baby Sawyer sits snugly in his mom Erika’s arms.
HILLSBORO – To coincide with its fresh new look, Oregon Home Magazine is providing one lucky reader with a fresh new look to one of their rooms — for free!
The lucky winners Erika and Brad Probst of Hillsboro, OR were selected randomly last week and have agreed to have Oregon Home document the complete transformation of their space. One room in the Probst’s family house will be revitalized with interior design by John Thompson, paint by Colorhouse and painting services by Fresh Coat Painting.
Erika and Brad, who live with their sons, Rowan, 3, and Sawyer, 3 months, say winning the contest is a “wonderful opportunity.”
Their home has an open concept on the main floor. The Probst’s will use Thompson’s design services to give their living/dining space more order, usability and contemporary style.
“With a newborn and a toddler, the space has become a bit of a catch-all,” says Erika.
The house backs up to the Jackson Bottom Wetlands. (The family can actually see an active bald eagle nest from inside!)
“We bought our house for its view, not its size,” says Erika.
Designer, John Thompson prides himself as a textile and furniture expert and is looking forward to giving the space an updated and functional design. He is happy to be donating his services to a young family who may not have had the time to focus on their interior space and design, but certainly deserve the nurture and positivity that a well designed space can bring. He hopes to show Oregon Home readers that good design doesn’t have to be expensive and plans to work with many of the things the family already owns.
